Top 20 Websites - Then and Now
Forbes has an interesting article of the Top 20 Websites - Then and Now.
There are some surprising (for me, anyway) results. For example, I find it hard to believe that Real Networks is number 19 this year. Maybe its just me, since I never use Real products, and won't even open .rm files (I don't trust Real, and neither should you).
Is Fox really getting 70,000,000 hits a year? Really? WTF?
YouTube (#6) is behind AOL Media (#5)? I thought we got rid of the AOLiens.
A surprising sites which I've never even heard of - Glam Media (#17).
Something interesting is that About.com is number 14 in both 2005 and 2008. MSN is #3 in both 2005 and 2008. That's what happens when you set everyone's home page in IE to be MSN.
It doesn't surprise me that Google is #1, but it does surprise me Yahoo! is #2. I would have thought YouTube or one of the blogging sites (such as Blogger or WordPress, neither of which appears) would be #2.
